Basia Bulat is a singer-songwriter living in Montreal, Canada. She has a distinctive voice, and her music blends Indie/folk, soul, and classic folk influences. Basia is also a skilled multi-instrumentalist, performing on instruments such as the electric guitar, piano, autoharp, ukulele, bass, and charango. Her talent has been widely recognized: her songs have been adapted for performances with major symphony orchestras, and she’s been invited to perform at prestigious tributes to artists like Leonard Cohen, Daniel Lanois, Nick Cave, and The Band.

Since releasing her debut album in 2007, she has shared the stage with artists including St. Vincent, Sufjan Stevens, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The National, Michael Kiwanuka, Daniel Lanois, Beirut, Destroyer, US Girls, Jim James, and many others. She has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, was featured on Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Later with Jools Holland, and received coverage from outlets like The New York Times. Basia Bulat has been a three-time Polaris Music Prize finalist and nominated for five JUNO Awards. Her new album, Basia’s Palace, was released on February 21, 2025 via Secret City Records.
